Job Description

Clinical Research Coordinator to coordinate and perform daily clinical research activities in accordance with the Total Cancer Care (TCC) protocol administered by the Ohio State Universitys Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC); functioning as an integral part of a team working with multi-disciplinary programs; assists with assessing patient records to identify patients who are eligible to participate in specified clinical research studies and projects; assists with collecting, extracting, and analyzing clinical research data; identifies and resolves missing data or inconsistencies generating reports and reviews to ensure validity of data; supports activities to ensure data collection process is in compliance with regulatory, Institutional Review Board (IRB) and study requirements; assists in coordinating specimen procurement; supports specimen and specimen data workflows for TCC/ORIEN projects; assists with coordinating and implementing appropriate quality control steps to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulatory and study standards; participates in activities to develop research study goals to meet protocol(s) and project(s) requirements. May be the primary owner/authority on a given project or process. Requires the application of clinical research knowledge, project management, and influencing skills to produce optimal results. Works on projects of moderate scope and complexity; applies judgment within defined parameters.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelors degree in biological sciences, health sciences or other health sciences-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Qualifications

One year experience in a clinical research capacity required; data collection, data entry and data reporting experience required; computer skills required, experience using Microsoft software applications required. Knowledge of medical terminology, biospecimens, tissue procurement and surgical pathology desired.

Ohio residence and periodic presence in Columbus are required.
