The opportunity

The Campus Accessibility Center is currently seeking a student employee to fill the role of Student Access Leader, to provide services to students who are registered with this office. Student Access Leaders (SAL) will assist the office manager in providing accommodations for students with disabilities. SALs will gain experience in the importance of practicing and promoting disability etiquette within the educational setting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive the SNHU access van. Staffed 7:30am - 5:00pm Monday through Friday
  • Provide coverage for the Front desk; answering phone, making appointments, and other office duties
  • Provide support for testing accommodations: Proctor, scribe, read for exams; while ensuring the security and integrity of the testing process
  • Provide support for notes accommodations: take notes, photocopy/scan / upload notes
  • Work with Accommodations Specialists on special events & projects

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Current enrollment in classes as part of a SNHU degree program
  • Students with work study may be prioritized
  • MUST have a current/valid US driver's license
  • MUST have a clean driving record - subject to license check
  • Must pass the SNHU online driving course
  • Must sign a confidentiality agreement
  • Positive, courteous, friendly attitude
  • A desire to help fellow students
  • Willingness to learn

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS-Word & Excel, MS-Office

Work Hours: CAC Office Hours: Monday - Friday between 8:00am - 4:30pm. Van shifts may include 7:30am start time and/or 5:00pm end time. Maximum of 20 hours per week.

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
