POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent is primarily responsible for troubleshooting MEP systems for all customers. This role is expected to quickly and efficiently diagnose problems, communicate the scope of effort out to customers, and identify the most cost-effective and timely solution to resolve the issue. This person supervises Service Technicians with varying levels of experience and executes production, safety, and quality goals.

Hourly base rate of $27/hr - $41/hr

KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Diagnoses problems within building systems, and either resolves or escalates them as appropriate.
  • Utilizes HVAC diagnostic equipment to identify systems issues.
  • Reviews blueprints and specifications to determine work details and establishes safe means and methods to complete tasks.
  • Leverages knowledge of building plans to inspect structures and locate key serviceable items.
  • Keeps records of assignments and produces detailed work reports to ensure all billing is accurate.
  • Works directly with customers to develop solutions to all concerns, issued in order of magnitude.
  • Upsells on-going maintenance contracts to non-contract customers, when appropriate.
  • Employs specialized techniques, equipment, and materials to accelerate the diagnostic process.
  • Directs apprentices engaged in any type of repairs, and coaches them in the proper means and methods for quality, safe, and effective execution of required work.
  • Services, repairs, adjusts and tests mechanical devices and equipment.
  • Inspects equipment, structures, and materials to identify the cause of errors, safety hazards, or other issues, and solutions or escalates them appropriately.
  • Keeps records of assignments and produces detailed work reports with any documentation of damage or loss on site.
  • Facilitates knowledge transfer and teaches trade skills to less experienced tradespeople.
  • Inspects and ensures the availability of all tools and materials needed to complete a given project.
  • Plays a key role in the recruitment and retention of service technicians.
  • Assists with Service Technicians' schedules, and ensures all time is recorded and reported via the proper channels.
  • Maintains vehicle maintenance, cleanliness and reports all damage to assigned vehicle.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:



  • This position operates primarily in the field, responding to customer calls for service on MEP systems. Jobsite work is likely to entail varying exposure to weather, potentially harmful materials or chemicals, fumes, odors, noise, dangerous machinery, and/or other conditions typically associated with a live construction site.

TRAVEL:



  • This position may require up to 75% of local travel.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 6-8 years of MEP service experience in industrial, commercial, and/or building HVAC preventive maintenance.
  • Universal EPA Certification.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with Microsoft and Google products.
  • Ability to explain complex HVAC issues to customers in a way they can understand.
  • Exceptional time management skills.
  • Capacity to leverage leadership skills to facilitate learning, teamwork, and collaborative relationships.
  • Must be fluent and able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
  • Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) with diverse audiences.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a driving record compliant with the Company's policies and MVR requirements, and consent to ongoing driving record monitoring by the Company.


      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



      • Completed OSHA 30-Hour Training.
      • Qualified Rigger and Signal Person
      • Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
      • Previous management or supervisory experience.
