Responsibilities
NORTON NEUROSCIENCE INSTITUTE is seeking a neurosurgeon with an interest in general neurosurgery for the 2027 calendar year or after. The selected candidates will join a multidisciplinary team of 15 neurosurgery physicians. A COMPREHENSIVE NEUROSCIENCE TEAM As a regional leader for neurosurgical care, Norton Neuroscience Institute provides care for more than 100,000 patients each year, including more than 15,000 unique neurosurgical patients at three primary practice locations and an additional eight satellite locations. The candidates will have the opportunity to use advanced technologies such as Medtronic's O-arm O2 imaging system and StealthStation S8 surgical navigation system, Brainlab AG software and devices, Airo Mobile Intraoperative CT scanner and Mazor robotic guidance system. Norton Neuroscience Institute leads a network of stroke care across four Norton Healthcare adult-service hospitals in Louisville. This network includes Norton Brownsboro Hospital, a DNV-accredited Comprehensive Stroke Center, in addition to two Primary Stroke Centers and an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital. Additionally, Norton Neuroscience Institute is recognized as a comprehensive Level 4 Epilepsy Center by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. ABOUT THE POSITION
- Opportunity to treat varied cases with limited burden of emergency cases and no Level I Trauma call
- One in 11 days call rotation for Norton Healthcare with first-call triage support from dedicated neurosurgery advanced practice providers

Job Responsibilities: The physician is responsible for recording a detailed medical history of each patient in the electronic medical record, including, but not limited to, chief complaint, present condition, individual history, and family history. Performing appropriate physical examination of each patient. Analyzing reports and/or findings of tests and personal examinations in order to assess the medical condition of the patient, including diagnosing the patient's injury or illness and formulating a prognosis.
