Position Summary:

The Quality Engineer will support the Prototype Department within Research and Development to facilitate the manufacturing of high-quality products for SIG SAUER. The ideal candidate must have strong attention to detail and utilize root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques. The Quality Engineer must be able to work independently, but will regularly collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and other departments throughout the company.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Perform evaluation of product lines in relation to compliance and requirements.
  • Handle root causes and corrective action for non-compliant products.
  • Support the Supply Engineer Quality team with respect to purchased products.
  • Functions as the interface for Design Engineering and Manufacturing to help resolve interpretation issues during design, NPI, and production.
  • Supports Material Review Board (MRB) process.
  • Engages in and actively volunteers for Continuous Improvement projects/tasks.
  • Participates in and sustains 5S.
  • Must follow all required ISO procedures, comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements, and adhere to SIG SAUER, Inc. security mandates.
  • Must be able to travel.

Education, Experience, and Required Skills:



  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field required.
  • 3+ years' experience in Quality Engineering of commercial applications.
  • Experience with aerospace, medical, or automotive applications is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings is required.
  • Knowledge with respect to the application of GD&T.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office 365 Software.
  • Ability to write reports and procedures, and effectively present information to team members.
  • Experience using and maintaining firearms is preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be.

  • Able to lift up to 25
  • Must wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which is required in designated
