Summary

The Learning Services Specialist sets instructional and performance objectives that utilize adult learner principles, address learning style differences and incorporate a variety of learning methodologies to develop e-learning courses, deliver in-person training sessions, conduct instructor-led virtual training, and facilitate basic-level organizational development interventions to build the capabilities and competencies of Lee Health employees in support of a culture of collaboration, continuous learning and professional growth.Proven experience in corporate training, preferably with a focus on soft skills, leadership development, and adult learning principles.

The Learning Services Specialist role focuses on the development of non-clinical knowledge, skills, and abilities to achieve System goals. The Learning Services Specialist also contributes to the promotion and utilization of the Learning Management System (LMS) Learn@Lee Health across the organization, demonstrates evidence-based practice and serves as a positive role model for others.

KEY DUTIES:

1. In-Person Training Delivery:

Facilitates interactive in-person training sessions and workshops to diverse groups of employees.

Utilizes a variety of training methods, techniques, and materials to engage participants and facilitate learning retention.

Exhibits adaptability, quick thinking, and capacity to handle unexpected challenges or questions with poise and expertise.

Provides constructive feedback and coaching to participants to support their professional development.

2. Instructor-Led Virtual Training:

Conducts virtual training sessions using online platforms and tools to deliver engaging and interactive training experiences.

Adapts in-person training content for virtual delivery while maintaining high levels of participant engagement and interaction.

Troubleshoots technical issues and ensuring a smooth virtual training delivery process.

Serves as virtual-learning Producer and coach to Leader As Teacher (LAT) Faculty.

3. Training Needs Assessment:

Conducts training needs assessments to identify gaps in employee knowledge, skills, and competencies.

Develops customized training solutions based on assessment findings to address identified needs and support employee development.

Conducts follow-up evaluations and measures impact of training and development programs/services to ensure each learning initiative and program offered aligns with organizational goals and offers value to participants.

4. E-Learning Course Development:

Designs, creates and updates engaging e-learning courses using instructional design principles and e-learning tools.

Collaborates with subject matter experts to ensure course content is accurate and aligned with training objectives.

Incorporates multimedia elements and interactive features to enhance the learning experience.

5. Documentation and Reporting:

Maintains accurate records of training activities, participant attendance, and training evaluations.

Generates reports on training effectiveness, participant feedback, and performance improvement metrics to inform learning and development strategy and decision-making.

6. Learning Management System (LMS) Promotion and Support:

Designs and implements engaging training programs and resources that showcase the benefits and functionalities of the LMS.

Educates employees on how to effectively navigate the LMS, access learning materials, and track their professional development progress.

Collaborates with stakeholders to tailor LMS features to meet specific learning needs, gather feedback to enhance user experience, and encourage a culture of continuous learning and skill development through the platform.

Empowers employees to take ownership of their learning journey and leverage the platform to enhance their knowledge and expertise within the organization.

7. Continuous Learning and Development:

Stays abreast of industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to training and development.

Participates in professional development opportunities to enhance training skills and knowledge in instructional design and adult learning principles.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Education: Bachelors Degree required with evidence of continuous learning and development.

Certifications: Preferred, but not required, CPDD-ATD; SHRM; DDI; DISC; Articulate Storyline-Basic & Advanced

Experience: Experience applying learning theory to the development of instructional objectives and adult learning methodologies; experience collaborating with subject matter experts to develop learning solutions; demonstrated ability to develop e-learning courses utilizing Articulate Storyline software; competency and experience in facilitating large and small learning teams at all levels.

Strong Stand-Up skills with ability to effectively engage, educate, and inspire learners in face-to-face and virtual training settings; excellent verbal and non-verbal communication techniques, such as clear articulation, active listening, and dynamic presentation delivery, to maintain audience attention and foster participatory learning experiences.

Demonstrated proficiency in Articulate Storyline.

    • Project management: ability to plan and coordinate project details; strong organizational and coordination skills.

    Ability to read and interpret data and documents.

    Ability to work as part of a team; cross-train as necessary.

    Other duties as assigned.

    Shift: Hours are generally days (8:00 am to 4:30 pm), Monday through Friday with some early morning, evening and weekend hours based on project schedules and department demand.
