CEI Field Supervisor

S&ME is seeking a leader to manage a team of CEI field technicians. If you have a background in construction materials testing and inspections for transportation projects with leadership experience or are eager to move into a leadership role, supervising, training, and mentoring a growing team of field staff, join our Transportation team in Columbia, South Carolina as our CEI Field Supervisor.

As a CEI Field Supervisor, you'll lead a dynamic group of construction materials testing technicians and inspectors. You'll be at the forefront of ensuring project success by delivering top-notch testing services, maintaining client satisfaction, and driving operational excellence. Your leadership will be key in coordinating with clients, managing multiple projects at a time, and upholding the highest safety standards.

Your Day-to-Day:



  • Coordinate schedules with clients and contractors to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Oversee project timelines and provide clear updates to all stakeholders.
  • Work closely with internal teams on proposals and pre-qualifications.
  • Champion staff development through training and certification compliance.
  • Assist staff in the performance of testing and inspections as needed.
  • Assist in recruitment, interviews, and selection of field staff.



What You Bring:



  • A High School diploma or GED
  • A Bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Geotechnical engineering or a construction-related field, a plus
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in construction materials testing
  • SCDOT certifications, a plus
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Effective communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing), using the English language
