Job Summary

The Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services is actively looking for a qualified candidate to fill the position of Aquatics Technician. An ideal candidate will demonstrate strong organizational skills, patience, and effective communication abilities.

We are currently hiring for the following location(s):

  • PRCS, 742 Miller Dr SE, Leesburg, VA

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting regular maintenance and cleaning of aquatic systems, which encompasses tanks, pumps, filters, and various other equipment.
  • Inspecting, cleaning, and repairing equipment.
  • Observe water's chemical composition and quality in aquatic environments; Conduct chemical analyses and implement treatments.
  • Troubleshooting and repairing malfunctioning equipment.
  • Ensuring the safety of those using the aquatic systems.
  • Additional critical job responsibilities may be carried out as required by the specific role and departmental assignment.

* The work schedule offers flexibility and will necessitate early morning, evening, and weekend availability.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent, preferably with knowledge in pool maintenance and operations and two (2) years of related work experience, preferably inclusive of some level of performance in a work leader capacity; or equivalent combination.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Certified Pool Operator (CPO)
  • Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO)

Job Contingencies and Special Requirements

Must undergo criminal background, credit and DMV checks.
