Description:

The CNC Programmer II is responsible for creating, proving, and optimizing CNC programs to ensure efficient and accurate machining under minimal supervision. The position requires knowledge in horizontal/vertical milling, and 3,4, & 5 axis lathes with live tooling. The ideal candidate is someone with experience in high mix, low volume manufacturing with a strong customer focused approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, write, and prove out CNC programs that will machine complex geometry to close tolerances on multi-axis machining centers.
  • Ability to set up and operate numerically controlled machines as needed.
  • Recommend and set up all tools, fixtures and programs for new jobs and improve current tools as needed in a setup sheet format
  • Adjust programs to improve performance, correct issues, or changes in production requirements.
  • Maintain detailed records of all CNC programs, modifications, and tooling used for each operation.
  • Assist in training machinists on program usage and provide technical support when needed.
  • Work in cooperation with the engineering and production departments concerning new product developments or changes in existing products.
  • Troubleshoots issues with DNC system .
  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace in accordance with Regal Rexnord policies, 5S procedures, and in line with Regal Rexnord core values.
  • Perform an other related duties as directed.

Qualifications:

Experience and Skill Required

  • Associate or technical school degree in CNC programming or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5 or more years of experience in CNC programming.
  • Proficiency in using CAD/CAM software for CNC programing.
  • Accurately read and comprehend moderately complex material (engineering drawings, specifications, programs, blueprints, G codes).
  • Skilled in G and M code editing, multi axis function(s) and lathe live tooling machining with multiple brand controllers.
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks and AutoCAD preferred)
  • Experience with Oracle and MS Office.
  • Lean or Lean, Six Sigma Certification Preferred (Yellow, Green, or Black Belt).

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift, move, manipulate up to 35 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand and / or walk for long periods of time
